Our Story.
IDnow’s journey began at a time when digital identity verification was still uncharted territory. In 2014, we launched VideoIdent, one of the first solutions to deliver secure, remote identity verification in compliance with German regulations—laying the foundation for a new era of digital trust.
From these early innovations, we expanded rapidly across Europe and introduced AI-powered AutoIdent, enabling scalable, automated verification to meet rising demand. Our growth accelerated with the opening of new offices across Europe – reflecting our commitment to local presence with global impact.
The 2020s marked a period of strategic transformation. We acquired Identity Trust Management AG and Ariadnext, integrating their technologies and teams into a unified platform. This brought powerful capabilities like IDCheck.io and YRIS Digital Identity into our portfolio – further strengthening our position as a leader in digital identity.
In 2024, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary and took a major step forward with the certification of IDnow Trust Services AB – our joint venture with ESYSCO – as a Qualified Trust Service Provider in the EU. Today, backed by a strategic majority investment from Corsair Capital, we’re now more than a verification provider—we’re a digital trust platform, empowering businesses to navigate compliance, combat fraud, and build secure customer experiences at scale.
